Job OpeningsPosition: Yacht Broker/Sales Lead Department: Sales Reports To: President, Vice President and Office Manager Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week Employee Category: Exempt; no overtime or compensation time offered for this position Compensation: Salary plus commission Job Objective: Responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through boat shows, web based marketing, referrals and face to face contacts. Develops and implements agreed upon marketing plan which will meet the goal of expanding Islands Marine Centers customer base. Works in conjunction with all Islands Marine Center, Inc. departments for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation and the development of long term relationships with the clients. Daily tasks and responsibilities include managing client relationships, following up with sales leads as well as presenting sales agreements to potential clients. Managing and tracking very complex transactions from all stages of a very detailed selling and buying process. This exciting and challenging position requires dynamism, flexibility, self-motivation and good time management skills. In addition to good commercial sense and marketing skills, the ability to negotiate is essential to excel in this highly competitive market. Business ethics and discretion are imperative to this position. It is expected that the Yacht Broker/Sales Lead acts in the best interest of Islands Marine Center, Inc. at all times while adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes. Sales Functions: Responsible for the sales of new and used marine equipment including boats, motors, electronics, trailers and outboards. Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas listed above in order to give an effective presentation of Island Marine Centers products and service. Add to and develop a database of potential boat owners, buyers and sellers through boat shows, referrals telephone canvassing, face to face contact, direct mail, email and networking. Demonstrate the ability to carry on a business conversation with high net worth clients and decision makers. Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from competitors. Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and delivery. Responsible for direct and clear communication with service department in regards to all aspects of delivery of sold boats. Coordinating every delivery date with service department and orientation calendar. Responsible for setting reasonable delivery dates while keeping Islands Marine Centers vision and values in mind. Responsible for selling the way Islands Marine Center works, i.e orientation, facility and how we are different from other boat dealerships. Responsible for selling Islands Marine Center as a company, fostering repeat and word of mouth customers. Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models. Know the time frame and cost of delivering every option sold or quoted to a customer. Boat Shows/Marketing: Act as lead at all boat shows. Plan and direct staffing, training and performance of sales team at boat shows. Create and stay within boat show budget. Responsible for motivating the team towards maximum profitability and growth in-line with the company vision. Responsible for travel to and representation of Islands Marine Center at trade/dealer meetings Responsible for initiating and coordinating the development of action plans to penetrate new markets. Develops annual business plan in conjunction with President, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus Yacht Broker/Sales Lead on meeting and exceeding sales goals. Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed. Participates and contributes to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees Paperwork: Responsible for procuring boat sales contract signature and initial deposit. Responsible for setting payment plan for the remainder of the purchase price. Responsible for procuring complete customer information such as full name, phone numbers, address, fax numbers and email. Responsible for completing all information on sales sheet such as Hull/VIN number for boat, trailer, engines, ect. (Serial numbers of electronics are not necessary). Demonstrates the ability to gather, submit detailed information for evaluating trades and consignments, pricing and presentation of solutions to identified prospects and customer needs. Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities, including the use of Microsoft Outlook to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential. Inventory Management: Responsible for setting and updating all boat and motor prices with the appropriate margins. Responsible for keeping inventory at appropriate levels. Responsible for checking in all boats and motors arriving for sales purposes using the appropriate in-house survey. Responsible for providing timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all boats and motors for sale. Networking/Industry Knowledge: Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in industry practices. Network within the industry to create more leads and gain knowledge and contacts. Expand knowledge of products, boat lines, builders and designers Expand knowledge of competing products, boats and accessories Keep abreast of industry news by taking part in international shows, reading yachting magazines, business press and ongoing education and seminars Monitor customer and market preferences to determine focus of sales efforts *This job description reflects the general duties of the job but is not a detailed description of all the duties which may be inherent to the position.
